..For the Lord had closed up every womb in Abimelech’s household because of Abraham’s wife Sarah. Genesis 20:18

There are people who mean a lot to God;
There are people whose lives have great value before God.
It matters to God how such people are treated.
There are people over whom God is jealous.
And His eyes watch keenly over how such people are treated.
Abraham is one such. And all that belongs to Abraham is shared in this special attention of God.
Abimelech took Sarah in as his wife in ignorance.
In a sense, He was not guilty by human logic.
However, before God, he had committed a sin that warranted a just punishment.
The jealousy of God had been aroused, and the consequence was this closing of the wombs of all the women in Abimelech’s household.

I must pay attention to how I treat people.
Some people are special to God and He is jealous over them.
To maltreat such people is to court the wrath of God.

O Lord, help me to cultivate a heart of wisdom.
Deliver me from seeing people with my own carnal eyes.
Deliver me from folly in all its manifestations, especially in the way I see and treat people.

Protect me, Lord, from sinning against You by how I see and treat others.

Bless me with the capacity to see as You see.

And grant me to have the right disposition of heart to all men.

Bless me Lord with the capacity to see and discern spiritually and not be ensnared by a carnal evaluation of people.

Amen.
